Hazard Guide
Identifying, Assessing, and Controlling Hazards

Welcome to the BCCSA Hazard Guide

This guide helps you identify, assess, and control workplace hazards, ensuring a safer environment for everyone.

STEP 2: Assessing Risk

In this step, you will evaluate the risks associated with the hazards identified in Step 1. To do this, you'll use a risk matrix, which helps you determine the level of risk based on the likelihood of occurrence and the severity of potential consequences.

STEP 3: Implementing Risk Controls

After conducting a thorough risk assessment on your construction site, addressing the identified high and moderate risks with appropriate control measures is crucial.

STEP 4: Communicate

Companies must inform affected workers of the hazards identified in a hazard assessment. Companies must also have a process for hazard reporting and follow-up.
